the eye of the ordinary
by Jennifer Sue Bahnemann
My art begins where we often stop looking closely in everyday life.An appreciation of the ordinary, an eye for detail, and the beauty of less.
I find inspiration in the little things – everyday objects, essential goods, subtle forms, and details that often go unnoticed simply because they are so familiar to us.

By intentionally focusing on individual objects, I seek to explore the ordinary from a different perspective. I am drawn to the subtle characteristics that make each object unique, as well as the sense of calm and clarity that comes with minimalism.

I am particularly drawn to smaller formats.
For me, it doesn't take a huge format to express something meaningful.
Art is not about the size.
